玫瑰經: 苦難五端( The Mysteries of the Rosary: Sorroful Mysteries)

讀經一(我已給青年留下了為保存神聖的法律,而甘心慷慨犧牲的高尚榜樣。)

恭讀瑪加伯書下 6:18-31

厄肋阿匝爾是一位傑出的經師,又是年已古稀,儀表莊嚴的人。有人用力拉開了他的口,強迫他吃豬肉;但他寧願光榮捨命,不願受辱而偷生,遂自動走上刑架,且把肉吐出。其實,凡決意拒絕吃違法食物的人都該如此,雖死不辭。那些監督這違法祭餐的人因為與他有多年的交情,便把他叫到一邊,再三勸他帶著自己預備而合法可吃的肉,假裝吃國王命令的祭肉;如此就可免一死,而且因他與他們多年的交情,還可獲得優待。但他立即作了一豪爽的決斷,這決斷相稱他的高齡和聲望,相稱他因積勞而生的白髮,和自幼至今的善行,更符合天主所立的神聖法律。

因此他說明自己的意見,告訴人快把他送到陰府裏去,說:「像我這樣年齡的人,決不宜作偽,免得許多青年,想年高九十的厄肋阿匝爾也接受了外教禮俗,因我的作偽和貪戀殘生,而誤入歧途;如此,不免在我的高齡上塗上一層污點和恥辱!況且,即使目前我能逃避人的刑罰;可是,或生或死,我總逃不出全能者的手。所以現在,我若是勇敢捨生,我不愧有此高齡,因為我已給青年留下了一個高尚的榜樣,為了可敬的神聖法律,甘心慷慨犧牲。」說完這話,就立刻走上刑架。方才和顏悅色勸他的人,一聽到他說出這樣的話,以為他瘋了,遂改變為仇視的態度。當他受重刑快要斷氣的時候,呻吟著說:「具有神聖智慧的上主,明知我能逃脫死亡,但是,為了敬畏他,我的肉身在痛打之下,雖受到很大的疼痛,但我的心靈卻喜樂地忍受這一切。」他便這樣死了。他的死,不但給青年人,而且也給全國的人民,留下了剛勇的模範,和大德不凡的記錄。——上主的話。

答唱詠 詠3:2-3,4-5,6-7

【答】:上主常扶持著我。

領:上主,迫害我的人,不可勝數!攻擊我的人,成群結隊!很多人論及我說:「天主絕不拯救他!」【答】

領:但是你,上主,是保護我的盾牌,是我的榮耀,常使我昂首抬頭。我一向上主大聲呼號,他便從聖山上俯聽我。【答】

領:我躺下安睡,我又醒了,因為上主常扶持著我。雖有千萬人向我圍攻,我絲毫也不驚恐。【答】

領:亞肋路亞。

眾:亞肋路亞。

領:天主愛了我們,且打發自己的兒子,為我們做贖罪祭。

眾:亞肋路亞。

福音(人子來,是為尋找並拯救迷失了的人。)

恭讀聖路加福音 19:1-10

那時候,耶穌進了耶里哥,正經過的時候,有一個人,名叫匝凱,他原是稅吏長,是個富有的人。他想要看看耶穌是什麼人;但由於人多,不能看見,因為他身材短小,於是他往前奔跑,攀上了一棵野桑樹,要看看耶穌,因為耶穌就要從那裏經過。耶穌來到那地方,抬頭一看,對他說:「匝凱!你快下來!因為我今天必須住在你家中。」他便趕快下來,喜悅地款待耶穌。眾人見了,都竊竊私議說:「他竟到有罪的人那裏投宿。」匝凱站起來對主說:「主,你看,我把我財物的一半施捨給窮人;我如果欺騙過誰,我就以四倍賠償。」耶穌對他說:「今天救恩臨到了這一家,因為他也是亞巴郎之子。因為人子來,是為尋找及拯救迷失了的人。」——上主的話。

反省

匝凱身材矮小,加上太多人群,為了目睹耶穌的風采,不惜爬上一棵野桑樹。他如願以償看到了耶穌,然而他沒有像那個瞎子拼命大叫耶穌的名字,反而是耶穌經過桑樹時,抬頭主動向他打招呼:「匝凱!你快下來!因為我今天必須住在你家中。」這番話深深打動匝凱,他稅吏的身份本來被眾人唾棄,而耶穌竟然願意到他家中作客,他歡天喜地接待耶穌。

耶穌親臨匝凱的家,對匝凱這個群眾公認的罪人,是十分有效的治療,匝凱以實際行動顯示他悔改的決心:其一是大方地賙濟窮人,其二是以四倍償還他所訛詐來的金錢。匝凱的人生目標不再建基於財富上,即使變成窮光蛋也在所不惜,因為他已找到他的至寶——耶穌基督。匝凱的故事讓我們看見,認識耶穌必帶來生命的改變。我們是否願意把生命的主權交給耶穌,讓祂來改變我們的生命呢?

「今天救恩臨到了這一家」,是耶穌給匝凱最重要的回應,等同耶穌對被醫治的瞎子說:「你的信德救了你」。而「他也是亞巴郎之子」,是耶穌為臭名遠播的匝凱作身分上的平反。「因為人子來,是為尋找及拯救迷失了的人。」在耶穌眼中,連匝凱這樣「迷失」的人,祂都樂意主動尋找、拯救,何況我們呢?

實踐

匝凱的爽快回應顯示了一個迷失的人付諸行動的悔改。一個真誠悔改的人不單是內心的皈依,同時也配合行動的改變。而且,匝凱表達出來的悔改行動是超過法律所要求的,因此更顯出他歸向天主的決心是何等真實。今日,在我們的生命中,是否也有不同於過去的價值觀,見證我們已成為天主的子女呢?耶穌說:「我今天必須住在你家中」,我有沒有騰出空間,讓祂進入我的心,在我的生命中為王,抑或塞滿各式各樣的東西,成為祂進入我生命的障礙?

First reading 2 Maccabees 6:18-31

 Eleazar, one of the foremost teachers of the Law, a man already advanced in years and of most noble appearance, was being forced to open his mouth wide to swallow pig’s flesh. But he, resolving to die with honour rather than to live disgraced, went to the block of his own accord, spitting the stuff out, the plain duty of anyone with the courage to reject what it is not lawful to taste, even from a natural tenderness for his own life. Those in charge of the impious banquet, because of their long-standing friendship with him, took him aside and privately urged him to have meat brought of a kind he could properly use, prepared by himself, and only pretend to eat the portions of sacrificial meat as prescribed by the king; this action would enable him to escape death, by availing himself of an act of kindness prompted by their long friendship. But having taken a noble decision worthy of his years and the dignity of his great age and the well earned distinction of his grey hairs, worthy too of his impeccable conduct from boyhood, and above all of the holy legislation established by God himself, he publicly stated his convictions, telling them to send him at once to Hades. ‘Such pretence’ he said ‘does not square with our time of life; many young people would suppose that Eleazar at the age of ninety had conformed to the foreigners’ way of life, and because I had played this part for the sake of a paltry brief spell of life might themselves be led astray on my account; I should only bring defilement and disgrace on my old age. Even though for the moment I avoid execution by man, I can never, living or dead, elude the grasp of the Almighty. Therefore if I am man enough to quit this life here and now I shall prove myself worthy of my old age, and I shall have left the young a noble example of how to make a good death, eagerly and generously, for the venerable and holy laws.’ With these words he went straight to the block. His escorts, so recently well disposed towards him, turned against him after this declaration, which they regarded as sheer madness. Just before he died under the blows, he groaned aloud and said, ‘The Lord whose knowledge is holy sees clearly that, though I might have escaped death, whatever agonies of body I now endure under this bludgeoning, in my soul I am glad to suffer, because of the awe which he inspires in me.’ This was how he died, leaving his death as an example of nobility and a record of virtue not only for the young but for the great majority of the nation.

Responsorial Psalm Psalm 3:2-7

The Lord upholds me. How many are my foes, O Lord! How many are rising up against me! How many are saying about me: ‘There is no help for him in God.’

The Lord upholds me. But you, Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, who lift up my head. I cry aloud to the Lord. He answers from his holy mountain. The Lord upholds me. I lie down to rest and I sleep. I wake, for the Lord upholds me. I will not fear even thousands of people who are ranged on every side against me.

Gospel Luke 19:1-10

Jesus entered Jericho and was going through the town when a man whose name was Zacchaeus made his appearance: he was one of the senior tax collectors and a wealthy man. He was anxious to see what kind of man Jesus was, but he was too short and could not see him for the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree to catch a glimpse of Jesus who was to pass that way. When Jesus reached the spot he looked up and spoke to him: ‘Zacchaeus, come down. Hurry, because I must stay at your house today.’ And he hurried down and welcomed him joyfully. They all complained when they saw what was happening. ‘He has gone to stay at a sinner’s house’ they said. But Zacchaeus stood his ground and said to the Lord, ‘Look, sir, I am going to give half my property to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody I will pay him back four times the amount.’ And Jesus said to him, ‘Today salvation has come to this house, because this man too is a son of Abraham; for the Son of Man has come to seek out and save what was lost.’ Gospel of the Lord

聆聽聖言

耶穌來到那地方,抬頭一看,對他說:「匝凱,你快下來!因為我今天必須住在你家中。」
他便趕快下來,喜悅地款留耶穌。眾人見了,都竊竊私議說:「祂竟到有罪的人那裏投宿。」
匝凱站起來對主說:「主,祢看,我把我一半的財物施捨給窮人;我如果欺騙過誰,我就以四倍賠償。」
耶穌對他說:「今天救恩來到了這一家,因為他也是亞巴郎之子。因為人子來,是為尋找及拯救迷失了的人。」

釋經小幫手

今天耶穌清楚表明祂來到世上的目的是「尋找及拯救迷失了的人」。耶穌也曾經對法利塞人說:「我不是來召叫義人,而是召叫罪人悔改」(路五32)。可見耶穌最深的渴望是每個人都能意識到自己的罪,然後真心悔改,與天父和好。不管過去我們犯了多少錯,只要我們轉向天父,祂都會再給我們機會;耶穌讓我們看見天父最重視的是悔改及「痛悔和謙卑的赤心」(詠五一19)。與天父親近的耶穌在匝凱身上看到了悔改的渴望,因為匝凱不但為了看耶穌不計形象奔跑、爬樹,還在眾人前公開承諾他將把一半的財物施捨給窮人,並四倍賠償他欺騙過的人。耶穌在他身上看見他充滿悔改、過不一樣生活的渴望。因此,耶穌向眾人宣告:「今天救恩來到了這一家,因為他也是亞巴郎之子」,耶穌肯定匝凱身為人的價值—他是值得被愛、被救贖、被接納的,即便他是個罪人。我們也可以反省自己:當面對我們認定的「罪人」時—如不進堂的配偶、整天玩電玩的孩子、工作懶惰的同事、脾氣暴躁的老闆、缺乏愛的神職人員、甚至是墮落的自己,我們的心是判斷、鄙視、冷落,還是以耶穌的眼光來看待這些「罪人」呢?讓我們以信德相信,每個人都有潛力被天父的愛與憐憫所感動,而展開不一樣的新生命,而我們能做的是不放棄、不間斷地為他們獻上祈禱及愛的行動,剩下的就交給天主吧!

為一位你認定的罪人獻上祈禱,或做出一件有愛德的行動。

全心祈禱

天父、耶穌,請教導我以祢們愛與憐憫的眼光來看待身旁的人。阿們。

11月16日   在天主的心意中合一 
愛使一切相連,無論是自有的或被造的。天主的心、我們的心,與宇宙萬物的心都在愛中合而為一。這是曆世歷代偉大的神秘主義者所傳述的:本篤(Benedict)、聖方濟各(St.Francis of Assie)、希爾德加(Hildegard of Bingen)、賀德威治(Hadewijch of Barbant)、艾哈特(Meister Eckhart)、大德蘭(Tersa of Avila)、聖十架若望(John of the Cross)、墨頓(Thomas Meton)等等,他們以自己的方式與語言見證了屬天的愛有聯繫的力量。但是這些人的知識不是出自理性的辯證,而是出自靜觀的祈禱。耶穌的聖神讓他們看見天主的心懷、宇宙的心懷,與他們的心懷是為一的,我們是在天主的心懷中完全體會這聯繫是什麼。~盧雲神父
