讀經一（我們實在該賠補加害我們兄弟的罪。）
恭讀創世紀 41:55-57;42:5-7,17-24
埃及全國鬧饑荒時，人民向法郎呼求糧食；法郎對埃及民眾說：「你們到若瑟那裏去，照他對你們所說的做。」當時饑荒瀰漫天下，若瑟便開了國內所有的糧倉，將糧食賣給埃及人，因為埃及的饑荒很嚴重。天下的人都來到埃及，向若瑟購買食糧，因為天下各地都大鬧饑荒。
這樣以色列的兒子們也夾在前去埃及購糧的人中，前來購糧，因為客納罕地也發生了饑荒。當時在地方上執政的是若瑟，給地方上所有人民配售糧食的也是他。若瑟的哥哥們來了，就俯首至地，向他下拜。若瑟一見他的哥哥們，就認出他們來，於是在拘留所內拘禁了他們三天。
第三天，若瑟對他們說：「我原是個敬畏天主的人，你們願意保全性命，應這樣做：如果你們是誠實人，叫你們兄弟中一個人留在拘留所內，其餘的人可帶糧食回去，解救家中的饑荒。然後給我帶你們的小弟弟來，好證實你們的話，你們也不致於死。」他們就這樣作了。他們彼此說：「我們實在該賠補加害我們兄弟的罪，因為他向我們哀求時，我們見了他心靈痛苦，竟不肯聽；為此這場苦難才落到我們身上！」勒烏本就對他們說：「我豈不是對你們說過：不要傷害孩子嗎？你們卻不肯聽；看，現在要追討他的血了。」
他們原不知道若瑟都聽得懂，因為在他們中有一翻譯員。若瑟就由他們前退出去哭了。——上主的話。
答唱詠 詠33:2-3,10-11,18-19
【答】：上主，求你向我們廣施慈愛，有如我們對你所存的期待。
領：你們該彈琴，稱謝上主，彈奏十弦琴，讚頌上主。你們應向他高唱新歌，在歡呼聲中奏琴吟哦。【答】
領：上主使異邦的計劃失敗，使萬民的策略廢去。上主的計劃卻永恆不變，他心中的謀略萬世常傳。【答】
領：請看，上主的眼睛常關注敬畏他的人，他的雙目常眷顧靠他仁慈的人，為使他們的性命，脫免死亡，使他們在饑饉時，生活如常。【答】

恭讀聖瑪竇福音 10:1-7
耶穌將他的十二門徒叫來，授給他們制伏邪魔的權柄，可以驅逐邪魔，醫治各種病症，各種疾苦。這是十二宗徒的名字：第一個是稱為伯多祿的西滿，和他的兄弟安德肋、載伯德的兒子雅各伯和他的弟弟若望、斐理伯和巴爾多祿茂、多默和稅吏瑪竇、阿耳斐的兒子雅各伯和達陡、熱誠者西滿和負賣耶穌的猶達斯依斯加略。耶穌派遣這十二人，囑咐他們說：「外邦人的路，你們不要走；撒瑪黎雅人的城，你們不要進；你們寧可往以色列家迷失了的羊那裏去。你們在路上應宣講說：天國臨近了。」——上主的話。
反省
在第九章末，耶穌吩咐門徒祈求更多的工人收割莊稼。在第十章，耶穌就派遣門徒出去宣講福音。雖然祂之前已揀選他們成為門徒，現在則是在他們中間揀選這十二人，授予他們治病、驅魔的權柄，吩咐他們把天國的喜訊帶給以色列人。
耶穌派遣十二人出去，吩咐他們：「外邦人的路，你們不要走；撒瑪黎雅人的城，你們不要進；你們寧可往以色列家迷失了的羊那裡去。」並不是耶穌歧視外邦人，因為這命令是出於天父的旨意與計畫，天國的福音起初只傳給猶太人，直到耶穌死而復活後，祂才命令門徒把這好消息傳到萬邦。聖保祿也說：「因為福音正是天主的德能，為使一切有信仰的人獲得救恩，先使猶太人，後使希臘人（即外邦人）。」（羅1:16）
而且，以色列家是門徒最熟悉的地方，至少語言不是問題，他們先在自己熟悉的地區開始傳福音，自然事半功倍。如果連自己的同胞都未聽過耶穌的名字，門徒又如何向以色列以外的人宣傳福音呢？
「你們在路上應宣講說：天國臨近了。」不單若翰洗者這樣講，耶穌和門徒也這樣講，顯示天國是福音的核心，傳福音的目的，是要把人帶進天國，歸入天主的權柄之下。天國近了，是天國的君王（耶穌基督）要來當主人，要來到人的心中當主人。唯有悔改，人才會把自己生命的主權交給天主，才能經歷福音。所以悔改並不只是行為上的轉變，更重要的是「主權的轉移」，讓耶穌在我們的生命中為王。
實踐
耶穌召叫這十二人，派遣他們宣揚天國的福音。這十二人出身背景迴異，說明天主能夠使用任何人，不管他們如何卑微。我們覺得自己渺小、沒有價值嗎？今日的福音，就是天主用平凡的人去做祂那不平凡工作的最佳證明。天主從不強迫我們去做我們不願意做的事，當祂召叫我們去跟隨祂的時候，我們會怎樣回應呢？

Joseph's brothers in his power When the whole country of Egypt began to feel the famine, the people cried out to Pharaoh for bread. But Pharaoh told all the Egyptians, ‘Go to Joseph and do what he tells you.’ There was famine all over the world. Then Joseph opened all the granaries and sold grain to the Egyptians. The famine grew worse in the land of Egypt. People came to Egypt from all over the world to buy grain from Joseph, for the famine had grown severe throughout the world. Israel’s sons with others making the same journey went to buy grain, for there was famine in the land of Canaan. It was Joseph, as the man in authority over the country, who sold the grain to all comers. So Joseph’s brothers went and bowed down before him, their faces touching the ground. When Joseph saw his brothers he recognised them. But he did not make himself known to them, and he spoke harshly to them. Then he kept them all in custody for three days. On the third day Joseph said to them, ‘Do this and you shall keep your lives, for I am a man who fears God. If you are honest men let one of your brothers be kept in the place of your detention; as for you, go and take grain to relieve the famine of your families. You shall bring me your youngest brother; this way your words will be proved true, and you will not have to die!’ This they did. They said to one another, ‘Truly we are being called to account for our brother. We saw his misery of soul when he begged our mercy, but we did not listen to him and now this misery has come home to us.’ Reuben answered them, ‘Did I not tell you not to wrong the boy? But you did not listen, and now we are brought to account for his blood.’ They did not know that Joseph understood, because there was an interpreter between them. He left them and wept.

'Go to the lost sheep of the House of Israel' Jesus summoned his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits with power to cast them out and to cure all kinds of diseases and sickness. These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew; James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, the one who was to betray him. These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them as follows: ‘Do not turn your steps to pagan territory, and do not enter any Samaritan town; go rather to the lost sheep of the House of Israel. And as you go, proclaim that the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.’

聆聽聖言
那時候，耶穌將衪的十二門徒叫來，授給他們制伏邪魔的權柄，可以驅逐邪魔，醫治各種病症，各種疾苦。這是十二宗徒的名字：第一個是稱為伯多祿的西滿，和他的兄弟安德肋，載伯德的兒子雅各伯和他的弟弟若望，斐理伯和巴爾多祿茂，多默和稅吏瑪竇，阿耳斐的兒子雅各伯和達陡，熱誠者西滿和負賣耶穌的猶達斯．依斯加略。

釋經小幫手
在今天的福音中，聖史瑪竇記載耶穌派遣門徒們出去宣講天國的福音。但，奇怪的是，為什麼耶穌只讓門徒去向猶太人轉播福音呢？這和瑪竇福音最後一章的命令「你們要去使萬民成為門徒」全然不同！難道耶穌改變了注意？其實，福音中的這樣看似不一致的訊息，也能夠教導我們很多關於人性和信仰的道理。瑪竇記載耶穌先要門徒去向自己人去宣傳福音。其實，對自己最親近的人，特別是自己的家人宣講福音才是最困難的，不是嗎？因為福音不是會背教會的道理、會應用聖經、會念經、有過神秘的祈禱經驗就能說服別人來信耶穌的。相反的，很多時候，別人是要看我們的行為舉止才決定我們所信的天主，我們所宣講的天國是否值得追求。試問，如果我們身為基督徒，每天在教會進進出出，又服務、又讀經、又接受各方面的培訓，但回到家又是脾氣暴躁、態度惡劣、奢己苛人、做事沒有原則，家人怎麼會相信天國的訊息呢？況且，只有長時期近距離的和親友或同事相處，才能帶出一般我們會向外人隱藏的黑暗面。就連這些黑暗面，耶穌也要好好面對，努力去轉化。耶穌要門徒們先跟自己人傳福音，就是要他們先學會把福音內化，在生活中活出來。做到了這一點，我們向萬民傳播福音才不會心虛，卻能真正以行為道出耶穌在我們生命中寫下的福音。
